Solutia’s Continuing Commitment to Nylon 6,6

Although Solutia was established in 1997, we are celebrating our 100th anniversary as a chemical company. We are the former applied chemistry division of Monsanto Company and have a long history of making innovative products for our customers.

From our humble beginnings as Chemstrand, Solutia has grown to be the world's second largest producer of nylon 6,6. We operate one of the world’s largest wholly integrated nylon 6,6 manufacturing facility and have been producing high quality nylon fibers and resins since 1953.

In the ensuing half century, Solutia has set the industry standard with regards to nylon 6,6 technical support and new product development. We have also set the standard with regards to professional customer service and logistics support. Our dedicated team of professionals stand ready to assist you on a global basis.

In 1999, Solutia established the Ascend brand of nylon 6,6 textile polymers. This diverse product line goes into demanding applications such as high speed textile fiber spinning, industrial yarns and fine denier monofilaments.
